Okay well I was watching the Discovery Channel recently, and they mentioned that the closer one gets to the speed of light, the more massive one becomes, and if they were to go faster than lightspeed, time for them would probably stop and they would become infinitely massive.
Now according to Pike, the "Singularity" is the point at which the mass of everything reaches infinity.
So I suppose that what I'm getting at is that if the rare majesties react with the right people, they can be used to sort of break the laws of physics. Also, since the Singularity supposedly "swallows everything and leaves nothing behind," it is probably like a black hole, which is also something with infinate mass.
Now this is all good and fun, but I still can't figure out why Pike would want to use it on Earth besides it being more power to him. I mean, I'm sure breaking all the laws that keep the universe stable is fun, but other than that I don't really understand it. The humans also wanted to open the Singularity, and I'd guess it would be for the same reason.
Sheesh, this game makes me want to get into physics. ~_~
I'll read into it too much some more at a later time and update this thread with my findings.

I always thought the Singularity was something like a black hole.

Yeah, it probably is.
So anyway I went around the Internet looking for more info about it, and a few sites said that the Singularity is going to be a time where our technology advances at an extremely fast rate to the point where we have created computers or some kind of technological advancement that is smarter than we are, possibly leading to the demise of the human race. Creepy, but it kinda sounds like one of those conspiracy theories.
I'm not sure if that's quite what the game was talking about, unless the majesties are technology. =P
